Part 2: The Significance of Remembering

Readings: 2 Peter 1:12-18

Series Description

What is truth? How do we know what is true, especially when we are constantly being bombarded by ideas, lifestyles, and beliefs from the world? But if Jesus represents all truth and if we have put our faith in Him to save us and to lead us, then how do we stand firm and even grow in our faith in God when everything else tries to pull us in the opposite direction?

In the apostle Peter’s second letter to believers in the different Roman provinces who were facing immense persecution, Peter gives practical insight as to how followers of Jesus, including us, can remain steadfast in our faith, even during difficult times and amidst false teachings. Peter’s letter offers serious warnings for believers but also offers deep hope and encouragement as he reminds believers to continue standing firm in the salvation that they have, as they are shaped and refined through adversity, and as they anticipate Jesus’ return.
