Many profess faith in God, but how does that belief truly transform and impact our lives, influencing our decisions, our speech, and our interactions with others? Many Christians experience a disconnect, as their lives are often shaped by culture, family, or past experiences rather than the Gospel. This can lead to spiritual immaturity, even after years of church attendance and even having lots of Biblical knowledge. Our busy and often rushed lives, coupled with unexamined inner struggles, can obstruct our relationships and decision-making. This prevents us from experiencing deep intimacy with God, fully surrendering to Jesus’ control, and receiving the Holy Spirit’s transformative work. This is why it is not possible to be spiritually mature while remaining emotionally immature.

Our faith was meant to grow and mature in a relationship with Jesus and with others whereby we move from having a shallow faith to having a deep authentic relationship with God and others. So if discipleship is the process of maturing in our faith and becoming more like Jesus in all areas of life, then as followers of Jesus we want to explore how our identity in Christ influences and transforms everything about us so that we start looking and living like Jesus from the inside out. When this happens, discipleship becomes central to our transformation and leadership as we become mature followers of Jesus who can bring transformation and healing to our communities and our world.

Come join us for our 8 part sermon series called Emotionally Healthy Discipleship: Moving From Shallow Christianity To Deep Transformation. This series begins on Sunday, October 19th.  We meet every Sunday at the Ferryway School (150 Cross St, Malden MA), from 10-11:30am.
